war gathers in the east (pt4)

the next part of the army is a flesh tearer strike force made up of a sanguinary priest and 5 marines with bolt guns and 5 drop pods(which I haven't built yet)

im breaking this up into parts each part will be for each part of the formation plus fluff so roughly 5 parts and here are the drop pods some are sprayed as ive had a decent run of weather so taking advantage!!

so this is the 3rd piece of the war convocation puzzle  finished and subsequently the last of the models that I bought finished

ill be picking up the skitarii at somepoint today and they'll be done by later on this eve hopefully 

new tau stuff

no that isn't something u can do but  wat you can do is lay down a whole world of hurt with the new tau hunter cadre


the tau have been given super juice in the form of a new campaign book with lots of shiny shiny new things for tau players to use.


the main alteration to the codex is that its softback rather than hardback so should be cheaper lol units and rules haven't changed at all they have jus tacked on other stuff in different books.


+1 BS for the hunter cadre in a firewall is wat I think well see then either a unit of storm surges or the superemecy armour sounds like an amazing combo


im still not worried that my all drop pod list will get killed turn 1 from interceptor


the tau Decurion has no real "tax units"  its all standard units that most tau lists would take.  I have the answer tho!  ill be adding an auspex in to my list for -1 cover so I can wipe out those pesky fish heads faster!!


so ill kno more when I get my hands on a campaign book n give it a read

so the 2nd section of the army is completed and its actually the primary bit for the force

its only a small portion pts wise but offers lots of fire power and other technical gubbins!!  which ill talk about in more detail once the army has all come 2gether!!  so without further a do here they are starting with my warlord

so this post will or should explain the title

I was looking for a meme on forging a narrative but couldn't find one which is annoying.  so the knight titan isn glued down and for good reason I haven't decided wat the theme will be.  to help me decide iv looked into some background type stuff


the skittarri of metallica (should be 1 l but I can use this 2 add some funny things like song lyrics) are from ultima segmentum in the eastern quadrant near the ultrasmurfs and Armageddon!!


so that explains the title lol


and also leads nicely into my first musing and ideas for bases


the 3rd war for Armageddon as they are in the east they would have helped (or I can jus say they did lol)  also the blood angels were part of that battle n that explains my allies choice.  bases will be mainy rubble n dead orks and imperial stuff.


for comedy value I an hide gretchin behind my vehicles


the second is demons teeth the mechanicum as a whole are trying to invade a world where an original STC is held that is immensely powerful. so I have no idea wat a demon world would look like but I do know I can swop the gretchin for nurglings lol


so these are my 2 ideas and wil make up another part of the base once iv got an idea

so I did this lol and completely ignored my own "wont buy anything until my necrons are painted" which didn't really work lol  that's mainly becoz the night is dark and full of terrors lol.

so in the 4 bags is the start of my mechanicum force! and I went straight for the big guy as my first piece I cudnt wait nor resist this kit as I really like the kit. so here is a picture heavy near enough step by step account lo

 

first up a lil look at the shiny shiny goodness

here is the kit stripped so we can see the lovely insides (mainly for those that haven't made a knight)



the legs n feet went to gether realy well the instructions are probably the best GW have ever made lots of detail shots and colour really easy 2 follow and use 

again the waist came together really quickly all goin pretty well so far 

and in true GW fashion it all goes wrong  piece 105/106 are the sides of the body  and they are labelled the wrong way round in this kit but once uv looked at the picture and figured out that its not right its easy 2 correct.

after that mix up I was back on form n it all went really well 

so the tilting plate(sheild thing) and melta gun and head are all not glued for ease of painting (incase for some reason ur reading this as a building guide lol)



the top plate is glued so is the rocket pod the body isn't glued to the legs and neither is the feet to the base



arms aren't glued as the lock in its very kool n clever!!  

so that's it spent a good few hours building the beast  next instalment will be wat ever else I build lol and somewhere a rock narrative that will leave u un able 2 walk for a week!!

40k winners/losers

well  im officially jumping ship  and getting rid of the tau  the main reason is I have



the top the best the most awesome D filled codex in 40k  and everyone hates eldar lol



I was looking for a decent demons pic and found this suitably freaky pic! demons yea another army that people hate lots of psykers and punchability fast mobile and annoying with either belakor or a screamer star



lastly necrons  they are super slow and unkillable  5+  inv VS shooting  4++ re-rolling 1's reanimation and can reach out and touch any unit and wound/glance it on 6's

these are top codex's don't need allies 2 make u cry or bring the PAIN

on the flip side



rubbish saves cardboard vehicles  but all the poison and haywire u can shake a stick at and the corpse thief keeps me in the game or wins the game for me so much lol

so on balance I have 3 top codex's compared 2 1 low tier codex and i'd like to change that !!

so skittarrii and ad mech are generally quite weak low saves/toughness  mixed with decent saves toughness and lost of sweet combos makes this army like dark eldar a lovely swiss army nice that will still leave a hole in a top codex that isn't ready for the pain and winning with a codex that sucks is awesome lol

so tau are out  and im back on the imperium train lol

options and tau!!

so iv looked at the war convocation and looking at all those awesome combos is something I can really dig

I also love the under dog armies and doing well with them is a real buzz

I kinda enjoyed playing the fish heads the static gunline meant regardless of mission their was only 1 real option table them lol which was fine but not all ways great. 

I did want a more jump n shoot style list with suits but the models are terrible and with new models coming out im quite excited to see wat the codex brings



I have got lots of options the next one is marines as an alternative  to the war convocation 

I'm not a massive fan of marines but out of all the other armies they are the most appealing

but like the cat I am quite confused but this will end when the new tau book comes out n iv read it
