end of month targets

predictably  i hit my targets which was to finish my deamons  army  :)  simple enough i wont start any more targts untill i have got all my vamps  in a pile ready 2 do hehe  

i may be able 2 do sum targets  as im gunna enter sum vampir counts  for the  club painting comp which will be the  terror gheist  and hex wraiths

i have also  bought my ticket for toy soldier and  paid for my half of the accomodation  :P

fixed LOC

now i did say  in short blog that  it had been fixed but here he is!!!!



couldnt sleep so i wrote a list

well iv still got this fecking annoying cough  and couldnt sleep so  i went thru the ork  codex deciding wat units  i like and seeing wat i can throw  together  so  heres my break down of the orky codex 

HQ 
the standard  combo of big meks  with KFF  is  really gd for foot lists and  mech lists alike.

the fun choices  thraka  cant be ignored  and  for a biker list  wazdakka

Elites
now the gd stuff  nobz are great  so are mega nobz 

the fun stuff burna boyz  in a trukk can do plenty of damage  kommandos  with snikrot  for taking out HS chocies like devs  tankbustas arent worth it and  lootas are gd  for high shooting if you want to make a shooty ork army

Troops
now the main stay is boyz in trukks or big mobs of boys for foot lists 

then the fun option get a load of gretchin to sit in front of the for a 4+ save for the boyz or have a big unit of gretchin for home objectives

FA
deff koptas rokkits and buzzsaw  for  reserving shenanigans and messing up  vehicles 

fun stuff   has to be stormboyz with  zagstruk 

HS
we have sum tough choices here  i would personally give meganobz a battlewagon so u dont use up a FOC slot  saving  room for the shootier units 

firstly their expensive but flash gits are amazingly gd  value 2 wounds with a pain boy in cover  give you a 4/4 at best  u can also take  ammo runts for each flash git which means  when ur desperate u a re-roll 10 shots  snazzguns may have a short range but str5 and  d6 ap  the average will be 3/4 and u can measure b4 u fire

next  long range via  the big guns!!!  cheaper than  flash gits at ful strength id opt for  1 unit with zzap guns and 1 unit with kannons and ammo runts 

the  looted wagons with boom guns  could be fun

next 40k project looking ahead

in the far future of the 41st millenium their is only painting!!!  i love painting   BUT i dont like power armour as a general rule i like to stick to obscure armies  that u dont see often  now i do have a chaos marines army that will see some love come 6th ed

now  most of it has been done as loyalists so far  and im nw thinking of doing some as pur chaos as hte new models may be very nice by keeping the  paint scheme the same but change the models i can show the decline into chaos :D

once the chaos have been finished  and im bored or want 2 change  then ill start using my chaos marine

which means ill have 3 armies that ill switch and use 

deamons 
chaos
dark eldar 

and vampire counts for fantasy  when im gettin bored  or painting  40k stuff

next outing for deamons

will be VS lee back from OZ  and ready to game.  so  hes  got a GK army  that i cud see or the old tried and tested space wolves

either way itll be a 2k game  that gives me  an extra 250pts to spend  now i can get an extra  deamon prince  and  give my other princes  demonic strength

now the GK might be easier as its a full inquisition army so no 3+  I6 halberds to screw me over  in combat  jus  las guns and monkies  the worst thing ill see are the assassins vindicare is useless  calidus is gd  eversor  is ok  and the other  1 is ok as well  next  the death cult assassins are quite nasty  but  with re-rolls  on all my saves im not worried :P

but with  space wolves ill have  land raiders to deal with will prolly end up wasting a prince 2 pop it  but ill have 6 bolts and breath  and  boon of mutation

itll be gd  gunna  DS into the centre with my crushers and circle everything round them  then fan out keeping fate weaver beheind the crushers so hes safe from combat :D   

nothing 2 report

iv ran out of astro grey  so the feinds are on hold till i can get more  not really much else 2 report really. 

tournaments  apart from toy soldier in  july nuthin else ol
painting  gotta re do fate weavers base/feinds

iv allready covered future projects  IE  fantasy  but wat about 40k ??  well iv finally  got the deamons an army iv wanted for ages so  im gunna  play them till i can get 2 50/50 win rate

im gunna paint ect etc then post pics after im done

fateweaver

so yesterday   he got fixed!!!!!   i need 2 paint up the base agen and his ankle and arm  then hes ready

i play tested the list i put up yesterday and  re-rolls are awesome i need 2 remember wat i can do with fate weaver spell wise and get a few chaos spawn models  for boon of mutation coz its gunna be more fun to but spawn on the board rather than  jus remove a model

toy soldier 2012 missions

heres the line up  this makes practicing pretty easy as i dont have to learn or master any weird mission  their all bog standard 40k missions str8 from the book  2/3 of the mission are capture so scoring units are important which means for my list i think ill have 2 blend both lists and see  wat i can do 

SCENARIO 1: SEIZE GROUND + DAWN OF WAR SETUP
i imagine well have  5 objectives   dawn doesnt bother me  i get some  cover from DoW and  waste a turn puttin pressure on my opponent

SCENARIO 2: SEIZE GROUND + TABLE QUARTERS SETUP
for this i may choose 2 go first depending on the table  force my opponent into the most open quarter he may then reserve 2 counter but i set up further bak in a pitched battle fashion  along my board edge or  i may have 2 invest in an icon so i can have my force in the middle then spread out

SCENARIO 3: CAPTURE AND CONTROL + PITCHED BATTLE SETUP
mmm this one ill go for a refuse flank if he doesnt cluster in 1 corner drop a 5 man plague bearers  on my objective everything else in mid then surge foreward

SCENARIO 4: ANNIHILATION + TABLE QUARTERS SETUP
hold the troops in the corner out of the way everything else goes foreward simples!!!  ill also use the other quarters tactic

SCENARIO 5: ANNIHILATION + DAWN OF WAR SETUP
same ting here hold troops away from the fighting and push foreward wit heverything else

SCENARIO 6: TAKE AND HOLD (special mission with 3 objectives) + PITCHED BATTLE SETUP
this should be easy  with an icon  drop everything in the middle protect the troops

so if i blend both list ill get something like this

next 1750 list

my findings  from the first tournament are that

A) more shooting would be gd 
b) crushers are gd but in 2 out 3 games they were jus blown to peices or charged with shit loads to down them now the next tournament is 6 games so theoretically  4 in 6 games theyll get hammered
c) feinds are mint i jus need 2 keep them alive longer

feinds ready to paint + new projects

firstly  heres some pics  of the seekers that im using as feinds  im very happy with them  im following hte same logic of blood crushers  that these are elite deamonettes given seekers to ride to get around faster and reak more devastatingly beautiful havoc.

so now deamons are nearly over if the next list proves more effective then ill be goin on to finish it with more seekers to complete this list.

loking foreward to the future i have 3 months or so before chaos legions and 6th ed comes out so  ill be doing a vampire counts army  in the mean time   which will consist of :

2 corpse carts
2 mortis engines
120 ghouls
5 hex wraiths

thats a 2400 pts list

so well so how it plays in the next few months gunna proxy it first before i buy anything order of purchases will be:

3 days left till open war checklist

so with 3 days left theirs still plenty of things for me 2 do iv played  atleast a dozen games now so thats not worrying me.

40k musings new chaos codex

butcher canon

36"  str8 ap4  heavy4

now we have a new chaos codex comming out soon!!  so wat about some new toys to make us even more divergeant from the main  marines  that mostly dominate every table heres the solution.  each mark gives you a specific bonus  for troops  and if we look at chaos deamons each mark gives a specific set of abilities.  now wat think wud work is giving marks to vehicles  weve allready seen it with the deccimator deamon engine  so why not roll it out for every other vehicle  something like wat the deccimator does allready

having chaos dreadnoughts with mark of korne an butcher canons will easily be a match for those pesky grey knight dreads then we can pew pew them off the table

mark of khorne would add +2 on charge for dreads  OR  either extra shot or 1 point of str on the weapon so 5 becomes 6 etc 9 like psybolts lol but not specific to jus bolters

mark of tzeentch would give a 5+ inv save

mark of nurgle would either ignore  results of 1 or 2 or make the armour 1 point better untill the first glance or pen (like necrons)

mark of slaanesh  would give acess to all sonic weaponry  dual blast master dreads any 1 :D

and i think this would work really well because from rumours  the chaos codex will be like the generic marine codex each hq unlocks certain troops and then with my idea you could make all vehicles specific to the army your playing for example world eaters could have everything with the makr of khorne for extra fluffyness :D

vanguard flash back and whats next

so from day dot iv been using  a balanced set of triggers but u dont need to simply bcoz  draw isnt needed at all and heres why

turn 1 u draw 2 cards
turn 2 u draw 2 cards
turn 3 u draw 2 cards
turn 4 u draw 3 cards

this is based on the assumption that you attack each turn as well.  at turn 4 you now have a grade 3 so draw an extra card for twin drive  so with this in mind iv changed my triggers

critical 6
stand 6
heal 4

iv have made these changes simply bcoz as i sed before draw isnt needed and heres why at turn 4 u draw 2 cards if the first check is a draw trigger that activates before the second check so if u draw a stand or critical or heal it wont work then u do the second check.

so dropping the draw triggers it means that i can play more aggressive and when i drive check ill get either stand or critical or both if im lucky


so wats next  in roughly 9 days  the next 2 pre constructed decks wil be out  which are nova grapplers and oracle think tank 

the advanced decks (booster packs only)  are  pale moon circus  dark irrgulars  tachikaze  and dimensional police

chariot nearly done




so here is my first attempt at painting this model and so far its looking really good the warm golden bronze colour came out better than i expected it to althought next time i wont add as much brown and the tail ill do it as highlights
regal blue

then wash it

the black areas are now purple they will be highlighted next then im goin to finish the sorcerer on top so far iv done his sword blade legs and arms 

demonic musings points limit

ok i havent really won any games at 1750 with my deamons so now im wondering why ??

the first thing is lack of experience playing against the range of new armies that are out thier
second thing i thought about is the points limit and heres why

before 5th ed  every body played 1500 points games  then tournaments progresse to 1750  now heres the problem most armies get better with the extra points

for example  white scars biker army at 1500 pts is 2 small to survive now adding 250pts to the mix you can add more troops moer weapons or get a chappy for the command squad and other lil trinkets

now this can be seen across every army im not gunna list them all as id be here all day and i need to finish painting my chariot and get it posted so

deamons get better the smaller they go this is because deamon princes greater deamons etc are so expensive and most people minimise troops so they can max out on other goodies the other benefit to smaller points limit is they become harder to kill  most bolt spam lists 38-42 models depending on units taken etc this doesnt really change between  1500/1750 

lets take the purifier spam grey knights list at 1500 their gunna get 4 rhinos 2 dreads and a chimeara for coteaz and his buddies

now these all have small units in them each 1 will have 2 focus its fire to take down my multi wounded monsters and u have 1 turn or so before the first wave is on you and then next turn you hav fire support comin down as well to deal with tanks the other benefit is they double up s anti infantry with demonic gaze so those small 5 man units become even easier to kill

this theory has been backed up by  deamons winning smaller events ie 1200 1k  points limits


i have 1 more list i should try  and thats something around fate weaver and as i think feinds have been doin alot better than crushers ill do somethign like this
